Chapter 12:
Désirée is woke by Daniel's godmother Madame Mathilde; the godmother wants Désirée to leave the castle. However, Désirée explains that she cannot leave now because she is here for Daniel Beauxhomme. She knows that he is not getting well, so she can help him by having her soul and her love. Then, Daniel comes in and says to Mathilde that he cannot leave her as well because he becomes better after she looks after him. And he will explain this to his father. When his father arrives, he is surprised that Désirée is here. And Daniel tells his father that he becomes better and feels refreshed when Désirée is here. Moreover, Mathilde begs to Gabriel that Daniel looks better in his eyes. Désirée looks in Daniel's eyes, thinking that's the reason why she stays with him, and she doesn't care about his father. Désirée and Mathilde work together to help Daniel's sickness. And Désirée takes care of him when he feels sick every day. This is when Daniel feels stronger, and Désirée becomes weaker because she has to stay awake for him. When she finally closes her eyes, Daniel's eyes open, and they are in love. Désirée tells him about the journey. Moreover, Désirée keeps the papillon with her and wishes the affection between them. However, Mathilde tells Désirée that it's her time to leave Daniel, but she doesn't want to ever leave him in the hotel. Désirée is excited about she is staying with Daniel and all the dresses she has, but people are sharing the jealousy, questioning why Daniel falls in love with this black girl. Then, when they are in the balcony, Désirée sees Papa Gé, but she didn't tell Daniel. And when he comes down, he only sees Lucrif. (the foreshadowing)

Daniel plans a ball for his father to accept Désirée, also for the return of his father. This party was well-planned, and with excitement. Désirée wears a white silk to the ball. And she is surprised by the party that Daniel has arranged; she has never seen so much people before. When she approaches, everyone likes Désirée and are chatting with her. She then thinks she is in a dream of fairytales. As everyone praises her, her confidence blooms. Then, she dances for the people, for Daniel, and for the happiness in her. However, Désirée never sees Gabriel and talks to him. When Mathilde sees Désirée, she wants her to go away with all those beautiful gentlemen, but for Désirée, she only wants to spend time with Daniel. Then Mathilde talks about the hates and curse? As they talk, Désirée seems afraid and she runs. As a result, she wants to look for another papillon for the affection between them. As she finds it, she sees Lucifus is over there. And his eyes is changed into red and it seems like Désirée sees Papa Gé. However, they then disappear.

Andrea Galimar is returning from France, the father and the son go to Andrea days and coming at nights. Désirée is all alone by herself at the hotel, and people will hurt her with hatred words.
