Reflection
Reflect on your group's performance (strengths, weaknesses, etc.) as well as your individual performance.
All in all, our group did great. As I saw the video, I think we each express well the personality in the book. The angel, which is played by Yun, performed a different side of the angel. After we read through the script, he understood how to act like an angry angel: the reactions looked really good, as he was accusing Guy. Also, Little Guy, which is played by Joey. He acted well with the look in an innocent boy; he figured out the way a boy looked like and a boy acted like. I, as the combination of the Night Women and Lili, am a really complicated character; she loves her husband Guy; yet, she hates him at the same time, blaming him for leaving the family alone. The contraction in Lili is really hard since she is a kind lady, but at the same time, she is a tough woman as well. Moreover, she loves her son more than everything. After her husband died, she puts everything to her son, Little Guy. I think I differentiated my traits in the performances. There were a lot of levels in my performance. In the beginning, I started with a soft voice to expose my love toward my son; every time he asked something, I responded with a gentle voice, patted his back and looked at him gently. However, when Guy is there, I will have a tougher voice to him since the feeling is changing: blaming, loving, hating all wave into Lili's traits. I performed it well with the changes. Moreover, when Josh is actually there, I sobbed to show my emotion; sadness, regretting come right into our performance. However, I still think I need to add more emotions when I saw Josh; I think I need to cry more to show my feeling toward him. Also, we added our volume so the audience can hear us clearly. Although the beginning is smooth and soft, we still used our stage voice to perform our scenes. In addition, we used the props and set pieces to set up the scenes. We utilized the triangles to pretend as a wall between Little Guy and Lili. Lili doesn't want her son to know her Night Women's job, so she tried to hide from him. As a result, we have the black side face Lili; it's to show the darkness of her and the unknown side of Lili. And Little Guy, as the positive and innocent boy, will be always live on the brightest side. We showed that with the use of the triangles and I think it works pretty well. Also, Lili and Little Guy's bed are on the center stage, further emphasizing the important events going on over there.
We need to improve a lot; I remember a scene that is not that good. When I pushed Josh away to show my anger and my sadness, I actually pushed him and came back to my original place. That seems somewhat artificial and embarrassing.
