Individual updates

Post on your blog what you have been working on, how it's going, what else you need to do to improve your project.

In these days, our group watched our previous videos about our adaptation. Then, we realize the drawbacks that we have when we perform it. Firstly, we are bad at presenting emotions out to the audiences. It's just like we are standing up to say the lines out loud. There is no emotion occurs. When I saw this video, it seems so awkward and rigid. In the first video, I seemed so mean to everyone, including my son Little Guy. I didn't act like a mother: it's more like treating a stranger. Yet, I tried to add more emotions and movements in the acting. When I talk to my son, I attempt to talk slowly and softly to him to show I am a mother. Also, I add more movements, patting his back and kneeling down as I talk to him. Moreover, I have been working on my attitude toward Guy when he comes back. At first, I am shocked at his action of coming back. Nevertheless, it changes to sad and mad; there are a lot of feelings when I saw him coming down. Now, I am working on the basic emotions when I saw him, but I need to add more about the hate and love toward Guy. I hate him because he left the family with nothing, but love is still there. Moreover, I am working on the attitude toward Little Guy as he decides to work at the Sugar Mill.  At first, I have full of interpretation of angry, but now I realize I need to act like a mother, worrying about Little Guy and explaining the reasons that he shouldn't go to work at the Sugar Mill. I think my emotions should have a more understanding of middle, large and small. Maybe, at first, I can be a little angry but explaining the reasons. Afterward, I can be in the middle angry like saying words seriously to Little Guy. In the end, I can be really angry, and to express that, I can speak loudly and in a sense of forbidding him. In particular, the thing that I need to work on is the monologue; I have a small frame of this monologue, but I still have to make perfection (I need to find an actual knife to kill myself). Also, I need to work on my lines more often: sometimes, I still forget my lines when I talked to Guy and Little Guy. Overall, our group did a good job of showing the emotions and movements: we create more understanding around the characters. Still, we have to work harder.
