Notes for Act 3
The Capulets and Paris are talking about because of the sad events of Tybalt, they had no time to ask Juliet about the feelings to Paris after that balls. Lady Capulet says she will take to her daughter and knows it tomorrow, then, Paris is ready to leave, but Capulet says his daughter will agree the marriage that his daughter will listen to him and they will get married on Wednesday. However, when Capulet hears today is Monday, and it's too early. As a result, he changes it to Thursday. Paris is so excited to get married with Juliet.
Thinking: Because Tybalt had died, Juliet should marry to a man immediately? That's so unreasonable, and she might be so depressed by the news, and how can her family decide so quickly for her. Just like selling her daughter away. It's also weird for Paris because they just dance for 1 song, and this is too fast to determine when to get married.
Romeo appears and Juliet is shocked by him, and Romeo says it's lark which sings for the morning, so he should go now, but Juliet says it's a night bird that sings for nights. Then, Juliet states that it is in the morning, so Romeo should go. The nurse comes and tells Juliet that Lady Capulet is approaching, but Juliet is sad that Romeo is banished from the city, so she cries. Afterward, Lady Capulet comes in and sees her crying, so Lady Capulet thinks she is sad because he cousin was died. Juliet says she is mad and sad for her cousin, and she will make some poison for Romeo herself to lead him die in that city, but Juliet still loves Romeo. Then, Lady Capulet declares her plan for Juliet's marriage which let her to marry Paris on Thursday. Juliet heard this and felt appalled because she already married Romeo, so she rejects this marriage, and says she will not marry yet, and asks her mom to change the schedule a little bit. But when Capulet comes in, and learns that Juliet doesn't want to married, he rages and announces if Juliet defy for marrying, their relationship will be broken apart. When Juliet entreats her mom for helping her to prevent this matching, her mom denies to help her. After they are gone, Juliet asks the nurse how can she escape from this situation, but the nurse replies and persuades Juliet to marry with Paris because Paris is better than Romeo. Romeo just like as death right now, so she thinks Juliet should gives up on wanting to stay with Romeo. Afterward, Juliet finds out that the nurse is no longer loyal to her and gives her every good advice. So she pretends to agree with the matching, and says she will find friar to make confession, yet she wants to find friar to find a better solution, and she will never trust the nurse anymore.
Thinking: I think if Juliet loves Romeo, they can probably flee altogether. The lady Capulet just like giving Juliet a plan to do, it's not ask her to consider. Maybe if they got married, the family can get more benefits. They don't really consider what is best for Juliet. And as I mentioned before, they shouldn't marry just after the death of Tybalt; it 's also disrespectful for Juliet like they never ever think of her. Maybe that's what a woman should do in the past that they should always obey their father. They couldn't have any thinking about marrying. The nurse is also irresponsible because how can she let Juliet be alone, and asks her to marry a man that she doesn't like. The nurse should either help her to denounce to Juliet's parents or helps Juliet to forget about Romeo.
