Last year, I went to the play which is "send from my phone", and that's the meaning of devised theatre. Devised theatre usually happened in America that all the people(actors&crews) collaborate ideas(brainstorm)to think of the story. It's not when we play the scenes of the story that based on the writer or such. People create their own story and it was similar to the improvisational theatre but devised theatre was in a fixed form. It is hard for people to say the methods that everyone is using because they all have different feelings and process, but usually people will always make the form that they want and then gather more ideas as they go through. Normally, people will have some icebreak games, and then they will tell their own stories or things that happen to them; everyone participate in the games, and there is the leftover from everyone.
